Culminating to 480 m, it is the village highest of the department after Mimet.

“Castellum Sancti Saturnini” is already mentioned at the 12th century.

Located on the passage of the Roman way going from Auriol to Gardanne, this village belonged to the Seigniory of the Abbey of Victor Saint which succeeded the Viscounts of Marseilles until 14th, of Agoult, then Cipriany with 17th and 18th.

This village has as a characteristic to have had to build not less than 4 churches since year 768!
