Roquevaire has two strong patrimonial elements: the most ancient Merovingian chapel of Provence and one of the most important organs of the world.
- The ‘Pierre Cochereau’s organs’: Pierre Cochereau, an organist, was in charge of the Great Organs of Notre-Dame, in Paris, from 1955 to 1984. He used to own an organ of 70 games on 5 keyboards. A part of this organ composes the 5.000 pipes-games of Roquevaire church.
This organ is known as one of the best instruments of the world.
- The ‘Saint Vincent chapel’: the most ancient Merovingian chapel of Provence (excavations in process).
The ‘Home of the one who paints’: Danielle Jacqui is an artist who has painted and decorated her home-studio, in a very out of ordinary way.
She was on the initiative of the Roquevaire 1st festival of Singular Art in 1990…
She is internationally known and has exhibited her works at the American Visionary Art Museum of Baltimore (USA).
- The ‘Saint-Vincent church’: of an imposing and severe aspect, it shelters the famous Cochereau’s organ.
But also…The oratories, the ‘Bonaparte Bridge’, dating from the 16th century, the castle ruins, the steeple dating from the Middle Age.
